She also describes developmental differences for youth with type 1 diabetes and their caregivers at different stages of childhood and adolescence.

In “Updates in Diabetes Technology and Preferences of People with Diabetes,” Dr. Korey Hood, a clinical psychologist and researcher at Stanford University, describes the difficulty of diabetes management, the devices and technologies (e.g., insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors) that are effective treatment methods when barriers to access are addressed, and the importance of advocacy for youth and families with diabetes. Additionally, Dr. Hood provides resources including DiabetesWise.org, which allows individuals to compare and contrast diabetes devices and prioritize what might work best for them based on a short quiz.
